New rates in effect October 1

An adjustment to New Mexico Gas Company's rates for the services we provide to customers, approved earlier this year by the Public Regulation Commission, are effective October 1.

As always, the cost of gas we purchase on behalf of customers is passed through without markup.

Starting in October, the average monthly residential bill will increase by 7.1%. An average residential customer will pay about $4.20 per month more – although the actual change will vary depending on the cost of gas as well as how much gas a customer uses. The monthly access fee for customers will remain at $12.40 a month.

The rate adjustment enables new investments in our system, an upgrade to our customer billing system and supports our commitment to providing safe, reliable, affordable natural gas service to New Mexicans.

Residential customers can check their usage and determine estimated bill changes in the table below. Actual bill amounts may vary depending on gas prices and other charges. A detailed table comparing rates for all NMGC customer types can be found here.

The final order issued by the Public Regulation Commission can be found here.
